Our Story

We converted a flower shop into a fun destination for desserts... and included a make your own sundae bar (over 50 toppings). Lots of seating indoors and outside on the patio and garden. A view of Town Cove across the street rounds out the experience. We even created a mini putting green, to practice your golf game, while you enjoy your ice cream.

We are passionate about our community, our farmers and local food artisans. In addition to our brick and mortar in Orleans, three Food Trucks take our show on the road. The “Pop Mobile” can be found at Truro, Wellfleet and Chatham Farmers Markets, the “Scoop Mobile” a 1979 Garmin will be serving our homage crepes, award winning grilled cheese and Cape Cod Pops everyday at Nauset Beach, and the Suzuki can be found at local craft fairs and food truck events. The Local Scoop is home to the Cape Cod Pop - artisan hand crafted popsicles - made with an organic base and and incorporating r homemade ice cream, frozen yogurt and fruit bases into popsicles, many are dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with local Cape Cod ingredients During the winter farmers market in Orleans we quickly figured out that not much ice cream gets sold in January between 8am to Noon, so we started making our homemade crepes, and filling them with ingredients we bought from others attending the market. Grilled cheese on Pain D’Avignon Sour Dough bread soon followed.

We incorporate local products into our shop, and use all natural ingredients. We even make our own vanilla soft service ice cream from scratch. We offer 12 flavors of homemade ice cream, 10 flavors of soft serve, lots of Vegan, Sugar Free, Gluten Free options as well. Our soft serve flavors rotate every two weeks.

Homemade crepes, brownies, chocolate chip cookies pair perfecting with our ice cream. We have 3 types of fresh whipped cream. Homemade waffle cones, and gluten free cones as well. 

All of our ice cream is homemade, on-site, in small batches. We get our dairy from Maine and use local Cape Cod ingredients to create our flavors. For example Rum Raisin is made w/ Truro Vineyards Spiced Rum, Salted Caramel has Wellfleet Sea Salt, Lavender Honey uses E&T Farm Honey from Barnstable, Java incorporated the Art of Roasting Coffee from Chatham…..…

We source our ingredients from local farmers & food artisans, many from  the farmers markets where we participate:

New this summer is our “Farm to Scoop” a collaboration with Chatham Bars Inn Farm and we will be making specialty ice cream, frozen yogurt and sorbets. Flavors will rotate every two weeks showcasing what is in season. Lemon Cheesecake, Raspberry Lime Rickey, Creamsicle are some flavors we have been experimenting with this season.
